Eglise Saint Louis Chambord
The editorial of Father Etienne Amiens
Welcome to the website of the Royal Church of Saint Louis de Chambord, a Catholic place of worship laden with history!
Here you will find elements to facilitate your visit.
Our church is part of the national estate of Chambord, thus belonging to the State, just as all other buildings within the estate. It is therefore the only church in France that does not belong to the town.
It is located in the immediate vicinity of the townhall, la Mairie de Chambord. The territory of the parish is that of the municipality, delimited by the 32 km of walls of the park.
Visit, come inside, and look around. Take a moment of silence… Pray, meditate, light a candle, a votif. Entrust your joys, your sorrows, your concerns to the One who welcomes you and whose
red candlelight testifies a presence!

History
In the 12th century, under the aegis of the Counts of Blois, a priory was founded here under the name of Notre Dame de Chambord.
Saint Louis Church is an integral part of the Chambord estate and as such belongs to the State, like all other buildings within the estate. It is located in the municipality of Chambord.
Our parish
The parish of Chambord is a singularity! Located on national estate territory, it is enclosed by 32km of walls. A small, yet royal parish that is located just a dozen meters from the castle, thus belonging to the state… like the cathedrals. Father AMIENS is the parish priest, assisted by a deacon and a council. Mass is sung every Sunday and on feast days, at 11:30 a.m.
Baptisms, weddings and funerals are held when families have a connection with Chambord. About 150,000 visitors cross the threshold of the church each year, coming from all continents. Our concern is to offer everyone a moment of silence and peace while visiting. The Eucharist is present and the book of the Word of God is opened at the entrance of the church choir.
Our desire is to have visitors, that while they indeed perceive that the church is of great heritage interest, realise that it is also a holy place to meet with the Lord. Receiving visitors is very important to us and we welcome anyone willing to join us in this missionary call.
Welcome to Chambord!
